Stage 1

Inspection.

In this stage we inspect and diagnose exactly what needs to be done to make the couch into the best condition possible. We will look at the fabric type, color and age of the furniture to determine the best approach.

STAGE 2

Vacuuming

This is a mandatory step that gets done on all pieces that come into our warehouse. No matter the age, condition, etc. Vacuuming each couch ensures that we have a clean slate to begin the next steps.

Stage 3

De-pilling/ Tiding up

In this stage, we de-pill the fabric if necessary and fix any issues that were found during inspection (like loose feet, re-stuffing deformed cushions, fixing a broken zipper etc.)

STAGE 4

Hot Water Extraction

When needed, we use our professional upholstery cleaning machine to deep clean couch upholstery. Using hot water is the key.

Our machine injects hot water infused with a cleaning solution into the couch to release dirt deep within the upholstery. Then, it extracts the water with powerful industrial-level suction to remove any dirt and grime!

We do multiple passes until the extracted water runs clear and clean.

Stage 5

Dry!

Awesome, another couch saved from the landfill.

Once our cleaning process is finished, the last thing to do is to let the whole couch FULLY dry before it is staged + photographed, and eventually re-homed!

  • The majority of our refurbishing process is the same when it comes to leather, with the main difference being we do not use hot water extraction on any leather products.

For leather, we use a specific leather cleaner depending on leather type, then we condition with a non-toxic, natural leather conditioner to bring back its luster.

  • Each used couch we receive is graded on a 5-tier condition scale, from "Like New" to "Fair". If you want to learn more about those tiers, you can click the arrow below.
